Do you ever feel like you're not good enough?
You're not alone. Most people have felt this way at some point in their lives, but it doesn't have to be that way. In fact, there's a simple practice that can help you learn you are good enough exactly as you are. It will also help you to love yourself again and stop the negative thoughts from taking over your mind. It's a little practice I picked up from a book called, “Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It.” I like to call it 7 Minutes of Self Love.
When we lack self-love, our minds are filled with negative thoughts about ourselves and others. These thoughts cause us to feel depressed or anxious and they prevent us from being happy in life. But when we start practicing daily affirmations of loving ourselves, these negative thoughts begin to fade away until eventually, they disappear completely! This is what I call "7 Minutes of Self Love" because it helps you fall back in love with yourself every day! And guess what? It only takes 7 minutes each morning before work or school!
It goes like this:
Sit in a quiet space, put on some soft piano music without words, close your eyes, and on every deep breath in, say to yourself, "I love myself," and on every breath out just let out whatever comes up, usually it is a lot of negative stuff. But that’s ok, it doesn't matter how negative or obscene it is, just let it out and let go of it for good. Then repeat the cycle, breathe in again and say to yourself, "I love myself" and as you exhale let out whatever thoughts come up. Keep on repeating this for seven minutes and you will quickly see how just a few minutes a day will improve your mood and mental state. And as you keep practicing this every day, your self-love will continue growing stronger and you will continue to release negativity and limiting beliefs each session.
This sounds really simple, but sometimes it can be a challenge when we’re low. Do your best to break the pattern in your thinking and try something new. So why not give it a try today? You'll be so glad that you did!
